Safety First

Selling your motorcycle / quad on World of 2 Wheels is no more risky than any other puplication, but there is a few precautions that need to be taken before hand:

-Meet a potencial buyer on your terms and at your desired location.
-Get the buyer to provide you with some contact details such as cellphone, landline or e-mail adress.
-Do not take the motorcyle documents with you unless you are 100% sure on the sale.
-If the deal doesn't go through make sure that your motorcycle / quad is safe at all times.
-Make sure that the complete amount is in your bank account and cleared by the parties concerned.

Getting your motorcycle / quad ready to be sold:

-Get it cleaned properly. Strip it down and make sure its spotless. The effort will be worth your while.
-Make sure that your motorcycle has recently been serviced and try to keep a record of them. Be honest.
-Make sure that you are available from the day your advert goes live.
-Have all the nessasary documentation ready.

When placing your advert:

When describing your motorcycle / quad always make sure to state what extra's is on it and/if any modifications has been doneto it. People buy motorcyles and quad's for lots of different reasons so make sure you give all the nessasary details. Make sure your price is rellevant and correct.

Be Ready:

Price:

-Its only normal for someone to negociate the price. Remember to keep the mood pleasant. Always be polite and make sure that you at least try to meet his offer. Always concider your first offer carefully as you might get an better one but make sure your price is relevant.

Always keep your documentation together:

Make sure you got all the nessasary paperwork in order for the buyer as he might finance it. Finace is a agreement between the buyer and a financial institution of their choice. Make sure you have the engin and frame number on hand.

Payment:

Always insist on cash. A deposit followed by a bank draft is the next thing. Always make sure that you get the deposit slip and make sure that its been cleared by the respective bank. When accepting cheques from the buyer make sure that its bank garantee'd and arrange a special clearance on it.

Important:

-Do not accept faxed copies of deposit slips.
-Check the authenticity of bank deposits with your bank.
-Request your bank to confirm this.
-if accepting a cheque make its valid and correct.
